hello,
I would like to know if the 2007 Lexus Es350 is better than the 2006 Toyota Avalon XLS?

The Avalon is a bigger car. The ES is the same as the Camry. Personally, I think the Lexus, especially the ES is an over priced car. I recently tried both of them and thought the Avalon was much more car for the money. I would up with a Nissan Altima because it had more room in it than both the Toyota and Lexus. Not only am I big, but I have a bad right knee and need a car that is comfortable for my leg. The Nissan was ideal. I am not knocking the other two. But, take both for a long test drive.

Lexus has a higher initial quality rating than Toyota, so subjectively you could say Lexus is better! An ES350 goes for approx. $33.2K and the Avalon XLS is $31.3K (the Limited is $34K), so the differential is not a lot, The ES350 is based off the Camry platform, so it is slightly smaller than the Avalon. Resale will likely be better with the Lexus. You might be treated better by a Lexus dealer, seeing they seek to improve their upscale status. I say Lexus!

The Lexus is a gift wrapped Toyota. For resale value I would lean towards the Lexus though.

ES350 is better by far. It along with the Camry were redesigned for 2007.

The Lexus also has better resale value.
