why is texture the most important factor when it comes to choosing a certain brand of food?

Simply because flavour isn't the only factor when determining fine food. Good food not only tastes nice, but also smells and FEELS nice.

The main reason that so many people love chocolate is because it is designed to melt only at mouth-temperature, so you get this wonderful feeling of it slowly dissolving over your tongue as the flavour is released.

This is why Italians spend so much time getting their pasta to be al dente, because a well textured pasta accentuates the experience created by the sauce!

Hopefully this helps!

texture is very important to the meal/food that is being consumed.
you want to make it like an orchestra where the flavor and the textures all come together. and don't leave out the appearance,
it also has to look good.

There are a few factors when it comes to choosing food
and they are depended upon smell, taste, looks and touch.
It's also personal preference when choosing the right factor
for a certain type of food, like chocolate. You may taste it,
while others may look at colour for their choice.
So, it's difficult to determine exactly what factor is used as the
most correct choice.

easy - texture is NOT the most important factor. Taste ranks #1.

Some people are very sensitive to the texture of their food. My hubby won't eat anything that is "slimy or soft and wet" like bread with gravy soaked into it, or oatmeal, or most of the time rice...unless it is steamed.

Different manufacturers make the same products differently. It is up to your personal taste.
For example: Prego is thicker than Ragu spaghetti sauce.
