You should contact the nearest base legal office. They can tell you without charging you. But unfortunately the answer is NO. Once you remarry, you cannot continue to receive your husband's benefots. You will surrender his pay. I wish I could find the infomation that my husband sent me from basic in 2004. But your base legal office will tell you the same thing.

If you remarry you won't get to steal his retirement... so go get married and get on with your new life and be happy instead of holding the chains of misery. Otherwise try fixing your relationship if you can't MOVE ON!

first of all, how long were you actually married including time separated till divorce was final. and how much of that time was he in the military. if you go online and look up former spouses of military members and retirement in the same search you'll find your answer. but the key to all this is 10 years of marriage.

remarrying voids all of the benefits (px, commissary, medical etc). go to your local legal assistance attorney at the jag office and they will be able to help you out. if you don't want to look at that, then you can also google the former spouses protection act. it lays out everything that you are entitled to, an the penalties for remarrying etc.

NO !! On remarriage, you cede right to his retirement... thank God.

I don't mean to be bitter, but my ex (to whom I was married for 32 months... she had alot of BF during the first Gulf War) ACTUALLY tracked me down on retirement... and tried to GET a part of my retirement !! Amusingly, she'd been married 3 times since our divorce.

No, you get remarried you lose the money and the medical benefits. IMHO, you don't deserve them anyway if you are divorced.

you should check with your local VA ooffice, but i understand that if you were married to him for 10 or more years, it doesn't matter if you remarry.
