how do u get the courage to talk to somebody?

so if you have never talked to this person before it should actually be pretty easy only because that person knows nothing about you and you can be whom ever you want upon meeting.
me I am a very shy girl
but like if I was checkin out a guy I would go up to him and act confident and what is the worst he can say, oh i dont like you?
who cares right?
