I have a first date tomorrow night with someone I'd like to hit it off with. He told me to choose the place. Any suggestions?? Anywhere in New York City is good.

I think it would be cool to go on a date to Casa la Femme, the Egyptian restaurant that used to be in SoHo but moved to the Upper East Side. They have very romantic 'tents' around each table and grass on the floor (in Spring and Summer, at least).

If that sounds too weird, my next choice might be Kittichai, the Thai restaurant in the Thompson Hotel. You can read about what to order and what Thai food is like here, if you've never had it before: http://www.foodvirgin.com/columns/Thai.htm Below is the link to a blurb about the Egyptian place.

I went to One Little West 12thin the Meatpacking District on my first date with my girlfriend. It was very dark and romantic, but there is also a hint of naughtiness to its design. Corsets on the, pillars, candlelit, and a Versace clad staff. The food is awesome and they have a whole seperate menu just for sharing with someone . The price-Not extremely expensive, but not cheap, dinner for two will run you $90+

How about DaSilvano on 6th? It is Italian and lots of fun. Great celeb watching, too. Last week we dined next to Sarah Jessica Parker and a few of her friends. The cuisine is quite good! Follow the link and look at the menu. I am sure you will enjoy it!

I've heard One If By Land is a very romantic spot. You will need reservations however. Make sure the place is quiet & not too distracting.
