How funny... i'm trying to budget my food spending and i see this question!
I think my family of 4 used to spend about 400.00 a month on food with a little more added in on eating out once a week. I decided to cut back on everything and i think we are down to 300.00 a month. I cut back on eating out (once a month) and no goodies (late night blizzards, cookies at the store, etc). I even bought butter at Costco so i have more for less, i started using up my bread flour and made my own bread for 4 days in a row. If we have treats, i make them (except the odd snicker's bar). And i don't do Starbucks unless its a SPECIAL event, like i'm taking out a friend or something.
I've also tried to save money by not driving as much, making homemade crafts, shorter showers, etc.
When you really need to budget and and can't cut the bills down, then try in other ways, like food, gas, eating out, coffees, treats.... you can really cut it down when you try!

My wife and I spend about $600 a month on groceries. I have a starbucks everyday which is a $60 a month habit. We shop at Central Market so it would be less at other grocery stores.

some random guidance do no longer purchase paper towels purchase cleanable outfits one time or make outfits for grimy jobs out of washed previous socks and t shirts. the toddler wipes are a necessity, so because it is superb. whilst meal making plans as an occasion you purchase some floor purple meat. Make a meatloaf out of in basic terms 2/3s of it, the rest make a taco filling out of it AND upload the final nights rice which you made with the meatloaf to the taco meat to stretch it or upload potato to it so which you get 2 nutrients, and bump up the quantity of alternative ingredients served. I discovered to stretch nutrients via including someting to the main suitable dish, much less chicken yet added pineapple which my relatives enjoyed. If I made hambergers, I additionally made meatballs and iced over them to apply in subs or spaghetti. This thought can translate to chicken or purple meat too. positioned one 0.33 aside and make a dif meal, occasion make baked chicken and the different no longer used chicken cook dinner and shred up and make chicken over salad or with noodles or rice commence making notes of costs of things, watch the commercials, Sam's now and lower back is not greater decrease priced, so use warning if a chum has a club chop up programs that are greater decrease priced. don't be fooled via the procuring in bulk at Sam's or Costco many products are unquestionably greater costly they only equipment a greater physically powerful quantity. Seperate card board packing boxes from regularly occurring trash and condense down and toss no longer in a bag, so your making use of much less rubbish luggage. save dollar shops and spot what values you will locate there. purchase a baking combination like bisquick, so as which you will make rolls or pancakes and so on, and have flour and sugar your effortless baking factors to make hand-crafted deserts rather of keep bought. I attempt my maximum suitable to save as quickly as a week in basic terms. I save Walmart and another decrease cost keep.
