Today my friend calls me and tells me my ex asked her if she likes me and she said yes. And then my ex says I lost respect for u. Why would he talk about me if he says he hates me?

Sounds to me as though he still has a thing for you not that he will ever openly admit. But most people don't talk about their ex's unless they are still somehow connected. (i.e. I only talk to/about mine because he is the father of my daughter.)

Well, either a.) he has unresolved feelings for you., b.) he's a jerk., c.) he likes to gossip, or d.) all of the above. I know that I still talk about my last boyfriend but I always say positive things. Your ex says negative things and that means that he's angry or something but you should just let it go. If he's talking about you in that way, he's not worth thinking about. You need to find a guy who loves and respects you for who you are.

Maybe he is trying to make other people hate you too. He is obviously, jealous of you or still in love with you and trying to find excuses to think badly of you so he can feel justified in his reasons for leaving you. This will not work with your real friends and it may backfire on him if he keeps it up.
