I play football and workout in the winter to prepare for lacrosse. When I recently ran my 40 time it was 4.82. I want to reduce my time to about .20-.30 secs to give me an edge during the lacrosse season. I'm about 5'11" and 160 lbs. I'm able to do any workout that you think is right, since my school has a weight room I can work with weights and I can run on the track at my school for free. Anything that can help would be great.

train your legs by running up a grassy hill.similar to an incline like one next to a football field.you are just treading water running an the track. the idea here is to use resistance it will also give you more air to the blood, i should say fresh air,now i mean sprint up a hill until it you induce pain without hurting your self.use the same formula that weightlifters use, like sets and reps, the next day you should feel a little sore.it sounds like you need to be doing more reading on Sprints, look it up.do not do the same old thing that every other guy or gal is doing for strength training,or you will be in the same mode.one other is to tether a rope between you and a tire and run around.even better go to a university track coach, ask questions.i used to push bobsleds,i know

Squats and Lunges.

Sprinters have big thighs.
Ever notice how female sprinters have big ole butts - lunges (it is not as obvious on a man)
