hi pixi i hope this helps you in some small way ,i myself have suffered from anxiety for many years first of all can i put yr mind at rest yr NOT Schizophrenic cos if you were "you wouldnt ask" cos there so ill they dont know they have it ,anyway you need some kind of medication like anti-deppresives from yr gp , now i see yr pregnant pixi there is tablets you can take during pregnancy cos i was on anti-deppessiants there 3 yrs ago during my pregnacy as the doc says its what the mother needs if shes ok the babys ok ...does that make scence ? anyway my daughter was fine ,but im still on them and doc says prob will for life cos some of us are just born that way its like a chemical imbalance in the brain taking the medication makes it even and you start to feel better , 2 tips i learned having anxiety pixi was wearing an elastic band round my wrist sounds kinda stupid to folk but beleive me it works , when you feel anxious and panicky ping the band on yr arm , cos the pain you get or sting i should say detracts you from that moment to get yr thoughts together again , 2nd one is always carry a sml bottled drink same again if you feel like that take a small sip and swallow ,thus being its impossible to panic and swallow at the same time , yr NOT going crazy pixi its an illness that only folk like me know how yr feeling with help from yr gp and members of yr family you will get there "i promise you " but you must seek help asap and most of all open up to family and friends ,its nothing to be embarrased about pixi plss try those2 tips i wrote there they realy do work tc pixi and i pray you will be just fine and best of luck in yr pregnancy tc x

I have the same feelings as you have described, I think it's normal. I have suffered from anxiety for almost two years. I like you do not take meds, just natural stuff and vitamins. Try reading some self helps books, they have really changed my feelings and fears over my anxiety. The books more than any natural cure or vitamin has helped me regain my life. Also, try relaxation tapes, these have really helped me. Good luck, and things will get better! Remember, anxiety can't hurt us...it's just an uncomfortable feeling and will pass...When I feel anxious I just allow myself to be anxious and tell myself this is just who I am today and accept it, try this and see if it helps.

Diffeen people have different things happening(sysmptons) to anxiety-I actually had panic attacks but it was after husband lost job. Unless it is a result of chemical imbalance in the brain or hormone fluctuations(as in pregnancy occurs) anxiety usually follows a disturbing event or incident that happens before the anxiety starts---go back and see what happened before 6 mos ago and also discuss with your doctor. If something did occur either with you or someone inyour life once you know you can face/deal with it and that alone lessens the anxiety. Schizophrenia is a mental illness that usually runs in families and it means that you see things that are not there and hear voices when no one speaks-usually voices tell you to do things againsyour nature and either God or devil or along those lines the ones thought to be talking--those are the only symptons of schizophrenia-----.anxiety, thinking or afraid you are getting ill but not having the symptons is NOT schizophrenia. Do Deep breathing-breathe in slowly through open mouth and exhale slowly through nose with mouth closed do this until you aer calm-slows heart rate and breathing which do calm you-----if it ciontinues talk to your doctor about therapy.

Of course you can treat this without medication. Relaxation exercises like progressive muscle relaxation and autogenic relaxation are helpful. You might want to try the Anxiety and Stress Reduction Workbook. What you are describing is what is called 'anticapitory anxiety'. The fear of becoming anxious or making a fool out of one's self in public is worse than the anxiety itself. The idea that something might happen takes the place of the actual thing itself happening. Reducing overal anxiety is helpful, try the book.

please go to a DR.( your OB/GYN can reccomend a Dr. ) just because you are pregnant..doesn't mean you can't go on medication. what ever anxiety your are feeling, depression or what ever, the baby is feeling it to...you must get this under control..to be able to cope with your family you have now...depression/anxiety is not something you can control without meds..it is a chemical imbalance..
