Please don't give me the standard religious responses citing the Bible or other religious texts, instead, think hard and try to come up with a rational, non-religious answer. After all, truth can withstand scrutiny.

I don't follow the bibble babble. But I do somewhat follow a religion, Earth based of course! Feeling at one with nature and the Universe is a far cry from the Dogma & fear that other religions may impress on the followers. And still they find it offensive! LOL!

OK, if you want people to give you proof without citing religious texts, than you are completely defeating the point of religion in the first place. No, the Bible is not perfect-- the Quran on the other hand is. Look at the amount of scientific observations made in the Quran over 1400 years ago. No man would have known such things at the time. Look at the fact that the entire book is written symmetrically. Could one man seriously have written an entire book as long as the Quran symmetrically? I could go on and on, but you would never listen, right? So I will stop here, and if you want to debate with an open mind, feel free to email me. Just so you know, I have considered many other religions, and no, I don't think that they stand up to scrutiny, which is why if I were being forced to convert from Islam to something else, I would indeed choose athiesm.

I don't know if this answer will be taken off, but I would like to ask one quick question before answering: What exactly IS the "overwhelming evidence" that man created God?

The reason I look at it as God made man, is because there is no possible way that man evolved. Have you ever taken a Biology course, and seen all the millions of things that goes into a simple thing like DNA? In my opinion, that couldn't have come from a cell mutation at all. There has to be Someone....Something out there that has an incredible mind, and who made these things! There is no other way.

Actually, I admire Atheists, because they have so much faith. They believe that everything on this earth came from a complicated cell mutation that eventually became a huge variety of material. In all honesty (I'm not provoking or being sarcastic), I admire Atheists and people who believe there is no God. They have a lot of faith.

The Bible. The Bible. The Bible. If there was scientific evidence that God created man, everyone would be the same religion.

From whom did this overwhelming evidence come, precisely? I would venture that it comes from those who do not have faith. And so when those who do not have faith go out to test whether or not God is, they are looking through the clouded lens of their own judgment, and through blind eyes. Naturally they will find what they are seeking: "evidence" that man created God. How could they find otherwise? Upon what would they base their search, exactly?

Because alleged evidence overwhelms you does not necessarily mean the alleged evidence is true. It means only that you have been overwhelmed by it.

To further answer your question, I don't rationalize my faith in God, except to say that I tend to believe that those I know exist. I know God, and therefore to disbelieve in his existence would be insane. It would be as if I right now denied your existence. I have heard of your existence through your own mouth (via the keyboard), and so I tend to believe that you, yourself, are alive. I have heard of God's existence through his work in my life and the gifts of great insight he has given me, through no other "fault" of my own than that I sought to know him and sought his will for my life.

One who does not believe cannot comprehend this. It is due to the very simple fact that they don't know God. You can't know God if you don't know God. This is a reasonable statement. It then can follow that one can know God if one does know God.

Seek what people think and, lo, that is all ye shall find. If it is knowledge of God that you seek, go to God and ask him who he is. Approach him in humility with an honest desire to know.

There is absolutely no way you can prove that you exist. There is no way you can prove that Richard Dawkins exists. You can assert that you live in a version of reality that contains a you and a Richard Dawkins but that doesn't mean that you or he or anything else in that realm of reality actually exists. You can say to me- AH but I am made of cells and particles etc..... and I can say yes but I know I don't exist and you think I do and I know you are wrong so it's probable that YOU don't exist. sorry I know I'm going down a wierd path here, it's late but I'm sure you get the gist of the argument I'm trying to make.
RICHARD DAWKINS for PRESIDENT or king or whatever. No - he can only argue from science, he needs a good sidekick who can argue from the basis of knowledge of religion also. But anyway- I agree with your question, I just thought I'd try and give you an argument.

its because of the overwhelming evidence that man did not (and will never be able) create so many important things in this world.

Uh...first, I'd have to have access to your "overwhelming evidence"....
So far, I've not come across even a scrap of evidence that convinces me that man created God...but then, perhaps I'm not quite as gullible as you are??

There is NO "overwhelming evidence" - in fact there is absolutely ZERO evidence - no evidence - I will pray for you and your soul and pray that those around you will find a way to help you see that you need Jesus.
