When my kids were small, I let them celebrate Halloween. Now, I enjoy my grandkids...this year, I'm dressing up in my "witch" costume (no offence to any wiccans), and giving out chocolate.
For Christians like Mother Goose...if Halloween ever really was "the devil's holiday", as you say, then don't you think that hearing the laughter of children on "his" day really ticks him off??

I am a Christian, and I love Halloween. It is a fun holiday. Children are innocent they usually don't look it to meanings of things that deeply. Love of Christ is everyday. Halloween is just a day dress up and trick or treat all this stuff about being a evil holiday celebrating the Devil and demons to me is just nonsense. And as you said taking things a little too seriously. After all people celebrate the Devil everyday through Greed, Pride, Envy, Sloth, etc. Let children have their fun. As long as Jesus remains the focus in your life he will be.

I am a christian teenager and my parents have always let me celebrate halloween. why wouldnt they? They always made me wear appropriate costumes and everything, but they saw it as a great way to make a friendlier neighborhood. each year we would have a neighborhood party after children came back on halloween. They believe that knowing your neighboors made the neighborhood safer (sorry that really has nothing to do with the question)

Why the hell not? Halloween is a Christian holiday, just like Christmas.

NO. I'm not taking things to seriously. Halloween is the devil's holiday and we want nothing to do with it.

yep, he is going to be a power ranger. I have spider webs all over my porch, plastic ghosts in the trees and a pink witch( not sure where that came from)
I don't think I will dress up to take my son around this year but I did in the past.

I don't have kids, but if I did I'd let them.
halloween is a totally secular holiday the way it's celebrated now.

i'm a teen and i've never celebrated halloween. i went to Christian alternatives such as Hallelujah nights and i don't feel like i missed out on part of my childhood because i didn't go door-to-door in a costume asking for free candy
i still got free candy at church, i got it all year round, it made no difference to me
