I am looking to buy a sword as a gift and I would like to find one like in the movie "Kill Bill". I'm sure that I cannot afford a very good one of authentic character. But if I can find one under $150.00 that would be great. However I do not know what type to look for specifically. Can someone please give me some suggestions? I would greatly appreciate it.

One of the main ones was called Hatori Hanzo. There is also an Oren Ishii in there and then there is ALSO the "bride's" sword. You can find any of those on ebay for pretty good prices. A few guys have them all the time! :)

It is a Japanese katana. Passable replicas are available for $80 to $100. Good replicas, of high-grade steel, will run you $250 or a bit more.
If you want a genuine Japanese katana -- made in Japan by a trained Japanese swordsmith. in the traditional way and of the traditional materials, start thinking five figures. High ones.

Peter gunn has it right on. The english swords were classic english two-handed broadswords. azeem uses a turkish scimitar, probably a kiliji. Some of Robin's men use other random swords, rapier's etc, but that's probably just due to them not paying much attention to the equipment of hte lesser characters

They used Japanese katanas. The ones used by Samurai. I don't know where you can get them, try eBay, or amazon.
