also try to find something you are both into
and make up a date from there

for instance say you both like baseball you both can go to a base ball game

or if you are both not to old you can go to build a bear and build a bear that reminds you both of each other

Taking a walk after dinner is nice. If possible make it special too, choose a restruant near the water, or the historic district, or any attraction that may be found interesting. Even if it is something a little silly, like looking at the city lights.

A variation on going to a movie would be to go to the theater, lecture or a concert. Often the local arts council or college will have smaller more unusual events going on.

What do tourists do in your town? You can take two approaches to this one. Either you can go do the corny tourist thing and laugh while you go about it. Or you can take an opportunity to see or do something that as a resident you've never gotten around to doing.

Most important, have an enjoyable and relaxed time. Don't pick something just because it sounds like a good idea, make sure it is something you might actually want to do.

If the weather is nice you could have a picnic or plan a nice walk maybe in a zoo. Somewhere that allows for talking and not having to have other noise get in the way.

Amusement parks and movies are never a good idea for a first date because of the noise factor.

If the weather is chilly like here in the northeast then how about cooking her a nice dinner and renting a dvd.

First dates are a specialty of mine. I love taking a woman out and trying to do something she has probably never done before. Last date i had I took a woman on an outdoor lil hike. I found a local group that did hikes every weekend, They had the place mapped out for us. Great lil outdoor adventure. Had reservations at the massage spa for afterwards. Then get into the dinner/bar hopping later in the evening.

Key is, Start with something unusual and you can hang out as friends for a couple hours, Then get her alone and do the classic dinner routine.

Have fun!

You can go to an airplane museum, movies, small dinner club w/ a live band, horse racing, pack a lunch and go to the airport and watch planes take off and land, these are the things that me and my guy did and still do on our dates. We went to carnivals and rode on the rides and played games to win stuffed animals etc.
We go to the boat docks and watch the giant freight ships come in. Have fun.

Well, first of all, find out what she likes. It also depends on the location you'll have dinner. How about just a nice after diner walk to help digest it? It serves as a good opportunity to window shop and find out what she likes. Good luck!

If you want to keep the talking to a minimum than a movie, but I would suggest finishing up dinner and than taking a nice walk. That way you can talk to her more, and you can be the romantic and offer her your jacket and that good stuff.

Take her to the park, have a picnic with some wine if your old enough to drink, or somewhere special that would be remember able. Take her bowling or skating. You should be asking her what she likes. If shes an outdoor person or not. Then you should have some better ideas.

If you and your date are active people, there's bowling, miniature golf, ice skating and hiking, among other things.

If you prefer to be entertained, you can go to a movie, play or concert, take in a museum, or go to a coffee shop where a local musician is playing.

You could always go together to volunteer somewhere, too.

Just ask your date what (s)he likes to do, see what sounds like fun, and go for it!

try something fun. If your date likes bowling, surprise her with a trip to the bowling alley. I really don't like going out to a REALLY nice place to eat for a date. I like to hang out. Movies are so cliche, but its still nice to do. Try to save the movie for second or third date. Bowling, Skating, PARTY are good choices for younger people... (14-21yrs old)
