I am addicted to everything, and Im slow sluggish apathetic and uncaring? What do I give up to become strong and start over again? Where does ambition spring from? What can I go through in order to become a more disciplined happier successful person?

Okay, when I read this, the thing that struck me most is how you want all the changes to come at once. It doesn't work that way.
You'll just feel overwhelmed and want to give up.

Look at one small area of yourself, or your life you would like to change...make it manageable. Then focus on changing just that one thing.

Once you are sure this has changed and you are happy about it, look at the next thing you need to change and so on.

Change takes time. Remember how long it took you to get into this rut? Well that's why it will take time to get out.

YOU decide what to change and YOU decide when you'll take the next step on. That way you will feel in control.

You say you're addicted to everything and you are slow and sluggish, these are all signs of wanting to escape the rut.
We often will overeat, smoke, drink, do drugs or even sleep so we don't have to face up to reality.

If drugs is one of your addictions, or alcohol, then you should get support in tackling this otherwise you may be setting yourself up for failure.

Best wishes.

The slow, sluggish, apathetic, and uncaring may be a result of addictions.

With all due respect to our troops, have you considered signing up for military service.

The first step is admitting it. Find a support group in your area where you can find people who can guide you step by step though what you need to do to get better.
Good luck

try putting your faith in God, and reading the Bible for yourself instead of listening to what others believe. God is a tremendous help and strength if you let Him. may want to start with a rehab place to detoxify
