Sugar deals with your body ,Religion deals with your soul , Religion itself is very damaging to a persons soul and sends more people to hell than anything else in the world ,handing out the Gideon Bible would be a real treat if the recipent took it home read it and found all the treasures that are inside ,

I know you're joking, but this reminds me of something. I have actually heard people from my family's church say they do this kind of thing! That they put tracts in the Halloween baskets! I just want to say that I think that is a very bad idea, even if you're a believer. And here's why:
Children want candy! If you put anything else in there besides candy (except maybe money) the children are going to be disappointed and think you are totally UNCOOL. So they will immediately come to the conclusion that whoever puts bibles or tracts in their basket is uncool, and their religion along with it.
NOT a good way to get little boys and girls to look kindly on your religion.

sugar is a temporary sweet, a small reward in a life of difficulty and pain.
religion can be the same way, if you so choose, but i know several people who have made a lifelong religious commitment, and are much happier, productive, and generally nicer people because of it.
i dont know what experience you had with religion that caused you to view it so negatively, but it wasnt by anyone who actually followed their professed religion.
and please grow up.

What about the Gideon Bible with a picture of the President stuck to it? That'd give kids nightmares for weeks.

What is a Gideons Bible, I wonder.. I would hand out a scripture taped to a piece of candy. Lure them with candy..:-)

I think you could cover the Bible in whipped cream and then hand it do them. They can lick their way down to the Good News.

Hmmm..... Rot their teeth, or rot their brains?
Tough decision, but I'd stick with the candy. Worst case scenario on the candy is needing dentures in their old age. It's much easier than fixing someones mental problems.
