You forgot to say "Where" in Alaska. Some of the major cities would be okay, but taking an 11 yr old out of LA to Alaska may be just too much.

Thats a lot to ask to have 2 people change their lives and move up to freezing a$$ Alaska from Calif. THats like trading a brand new luxury car for a radio flyer wagon.

relationships are a give and take, especially marriage. you two are going to have to work something out. rings don't ensure commitment. they're just pieces of jewelry. try to find a job around where she lives. either that or tell her that kids can make new friends. however, i have a feeling that she doesn't want to move as well.

Her kid is more important than you. She needs to stay with her son who needs to stay where he is with his friends and family. He should always come first, until he is 18, and you need to support that.

It's sweet that you want her with you so much you have bought a ring and want to marry her. Her son, however, and his growth and maturity in as stable environment as possible is more important. You say your job is important. How important is she? People have all kinds of jobs in LA. Find another one.

well buddy you are asking for quite a bit...how about moving to cali hu? why not? so only you count, is that what you are saying? seems like you are saying its easier to move 2 people from their roots then to move 1. By the sounds of it, you are not even from alaska, seems like you just work there. but ohh well, in my opinion take it one step at a time and yeah if she loves you that much she will do it...its a big step

If it is meant to be it will all work out. If she really loves you then she should understand and nothing will get in the way. I know if it were me i would go. She will never know unless she tries. Take her for a visit and give her time to come around. Good luck.
