Home CookingSweet Cucumber and Mandarin Orange Salad Recipe
Ingredients
1 medium cucumber, peeled and sliced into very thin rounds (about 2 cups)
1 (11-ounce) can Mandarin oranges, drained (about 1-1/4 cups)
1 medium Vidalia onion, sliced into very thin rings (about 1 cup)

2 tsp granulated sugar
1/3 cup distilled white vinegar

1 tsp chopped fresh tarragon
Salt and freshly ground pepper

Instructions
In a serving bowl, combine the cucumbers, oranges, and onion rings. In a small bowl, stir together the sugar and vinegar until the sugar dissolves. Pour the vinegar sugar mixture over the cucumber salad. Toss well. Add the chopped tarragon. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Chill the salad before serving.

Yield: 4 servings

Note: You may substitute any other fresh herb for the tarragon if you wish.

The variety of new liqueurs that are hitting the market continue to increase our mixability and open up a new world of interesting flavor combinations. X-Rated Fusion Liqueur is one of those newbies that is a delightful fruit liqueur made from a unique premium vodka base distilled from French wheat and roseberry grain. If that does not sound interesting enough the vodka is then infused with a combination of blood orange, mango and passion fruit. The thick pink liqueur has an almost endless list of possible mixes but is exquisite with a pomegranate vodka in a Pom-X Martini or with Champagne in a Tickled Pink. Both of these cocktails make an outstanding accent to romantic dinners and are filled with fun for girl's night out.

You know, there's something about the way a date makes a peanut butter & jelly sandwich...
Do you put even amounts of each? Do you make it so the jelly oozes out the sides when you bite into it? Do you put on a lot or a little peanut butter?
And if you make them like the fellow's mom used to make them, then chances are, the date will turn out pretty good :)

Also, PB&J can withstand just about any heat and not go bad.

How about finger foods? I would take a baguette (or french bread), some brie, cherry tomatoes, and maybe a nice slice of ham ( not the thin Ham maybe a 1/4inch thick) from the deli. To drink I would suggest a bottle of wine.
