I need help convincing my parents to buy me a laptop. They say I am too young, even though I am already in high school. What are some things I can tell them, to convince them that I am not to young. Any ideas? Please help!

Thank you!

Take a computer class and explain that the teacher recommends that every student bring their own laptop. I'm a parent so this is what would convince me besides actually having a need for it. Find your parents the best deal on the Internet to buy your laptop. Saving them money will definitely help them want to buy you a laptop. Prove to them you will take care of it like the holy grail.

In this modern age of technoligy it is important that you can use and learn how to protect yourself using a computer .I would ask them to compromise by letting them have protective software added to your lap top and let them see it is still there every month .Depending on where you live a latop may need more attatchments as my friend did this cost them over 2000 usd so in the end it was better for them to buy a home computer which you can also let your parents use you have your own ID's and passwords so you all have privacy .This also may help your compromise.

That is a pretty expensive decision to make. Collage I can understand but in high school-I see all kinds of myspace trash from high school girls...they are mostly trying to protect you and themselves. Unless you are going to shell out the money or pay them back I think its a no.

i dont know if you need one. i didnt get my own until 2 months ago! my boyfriend bought it and im out of the house! laptops cost a lot of money. think about that before you ask them again. you dont want to waste that money your family could use for better things, right?

If they're anything like me: nothing. You don't need one in high school. If you want it that badly. Get a job and start saving.

(Sorry, I'm sure that's not what you meant by "helpful.")

I'm probably twice your age and I still don't have a laptop. If you can't get it by asking for one for your birthday or Christmas, you'll have to wait til you can buy one for yourself.

go in all guns blazing. start with a good yell. throw in a few choice words of profanity, and then start screaming your side so that you cant hear theirs. if they say no after this, throw fragile things. if they still say no, lay on the floor and kick your feet.

Dont yell, dont have a fit. do something to show that you are responsible. Your parents probably want you to be SAFE.

Don't worry! you'll get one......eventually!

well, maybe if you worked and saved up your money to buy yourself a laptop...and maybe if you start doing that, they'll agree to meet you halfway or something. that's how my parents and i did it.
