maybe you should try a different church, some are quite positive. Its just that pastors see the problems of their entire congregation and that can get kind of depressing. so they go off talking about all their problems instead of how good God is. And you have to realize, a Christian can get pulled down by depressing stuff just as easily as a non christian. I do agree that they need to change, because no one wants to be a christian if it just means acting miserable all the time.

Well, I do not know what other churches do, but my non-denominational Christian church leads us to a life changing connection with Jesus Christ. And for us to serve Him better my church asks us to break into small groups so we can get to know each other more and we would be able to help one another when need is there.
We are studying Rick Warren's "Better together" which is basically instrumental tool for to understand that we are stronger together. And to teach us that we are here to learn to love one another.
We are all in different seasons with our faith...so do not be so quick to judge. We Christians do not get saved because we are good. We get saved only by the mercy and grace of God. And that mercy is offered to everyone.

Why do you post a question without using the free spell check? If your church is not giving you what you need spiritually then you should perhaps change flavors. And i am a very optimistic Christian. For example, I see some nice atheists comments coming to you soon. Be ready!

Personally, I think it's because (nobody take offense, please. I'm guilty as well) a lot of people know the religion very well, but they don't know the REASON for their religion. They know the traditions, the things their parents taught them, but they don't know the Savior.
I think the most miserable people on this planet are those who have the religion, but don't know the Savior. That might sound strange, but I believe it with all my heart.

Because many are not christians. they still say they are sinners, thereby denying Christ in them. If anyone tells you they are a sinner and a christian, tell them they lie, christ be not in you.they can't show the unconditional love of God,or teach the things you speak of for it is not in them. to give something, you must posess something.I say these things with love. I pray they my find their path to God.

Because life is not a bed of roses. Too many religions make you think it'll all be wonderful once you come to G-d.
Don't work that way, boy.
