Rolling ones are great, but sped the money on one that rolls without wobbling. I also like to use packing bags in the suitcase ebags makes some great ones- keeps things from overly wrinkling and if the luggage is checked for security- they just feel the bag- not paw through it.
Happy trails!

I would get a rolling type. Especially if you are going to do a lot of shopping! But if you are going to somewhere like Irian Jaya, I would suggest a backpack instead since your luggage will not be able to roll very much on rough roads.
I would suggest that you pack small things in ziplocs so that the airport security can see what you have inside easily.

Yes get a rolling one! Those airport terminals are VERY long! You should be able to get a good deal at Wal-Mart or even Target.

Wheeled luggage is best. Luggage really is one of those products that you get what you paid for. Instead of Wal-Mart, look for sales in the higher end department stores. If you buy cheap, don't get mad when the wheel or handle breaks off. Airlines usually don't cover broken wheels, handles or seams.

We say always travel light... we try to convince our travel buddies to use only carry-on. Definitely get a rolling bag, or if you're comfortable with it, a backpack type with shoulder straps. Think about how you're traveling -- how easy it will be to pack, unpack or find things in when you're on the road. If it's a carry-on, you keep it with you, and it will take less abuse. Read more on http://www.mousetourstravels.com/carry-on-packing-tips.html If you're checking some luggage you'll definitely want a roller bag. With carry-on read our security alert packing guide. Happy Travels!

Word of advice: if you get plain luggage..(like black or dark green) be SURE to do something so you can easily pick it out at the airport. Tie a ribbon or scarf around the handle... anything so you can tell it's yours.
And yes, definitely get a rolling bag.

Luggage is going to get beat up, so buy what you can afford. Try www.overstock.com - it is one of my favorite places to shop.
