I mean really, for the most part I’m a very imperfect person but just because I don’t have premarital sex I’m labeled as a prude. I mean I lie, I swear, I’ve stolen, but just because I do this one good thing it’s prudish. Maybe I enjoy being a virgin. And it’s not like I’m even yelling at other people and forcing my views on them. They’re the ones who are judging me. I mean damn, I thought a prude was someone who was unreasonably uptight, you know, someone who yells at people for kissing in public or that lady who yells at people at the beach for wearing bikinis. But now our society’s standards have fallen so low that prude just means anyone who’s against anything at all. Now a prude means someone who can actually count his/her sexual partners, doesn’t drink while driving, or is just plain polite and nice to people. If we won’t raise society’s standards, at least show tolerance and respect for people that do have standards of any kind.

Nah I have good friends it's just that I'm sick of listening to certain people who like to stereotype us as prudes. I'm also stereotyped as a tree hugging hippie just because I care about the planet. But stereotypes will always be around so I just have to learn to deal with them, or even laugh at them:-)

Dont worry about what other people are saying. If they are calling you a prude because your a virgin they are probobly just mad because they are not and they've slept with so many people that they are now labled a dirty whore. Biggups to you for holding out. hat shows that you value yourself and wont give it up to just anyone like alot of people.

I can relate with your situation in a way. When I was in high school I was called a prude because I didn't have sex with anyone. Now, I am 28 and I still stand by my beliefs. I think what you have to realize is you wake up in the morning you are living your life the right way - look at Psalms 15. In addition, having self-discipline gives you character and principles that someone really worthwhile will really value about you. It is hard because co-workers and people I know always brag about their sex life and sometimes I get jealous. I just have faith that someday my discipline will pay off and bring me closer to who I really want to be.

I think the only ones calling you prudes are the guys who feel led on by your sexy way of dressing, or kissing and leading up to sex then shutting down, basic teasing.

Most people don't automatically announce "prude" unless they were led on and teased.
Otherwise, how would they know about your 'virgin' status unless you announced it or wore it on your lapel as a badge of honor?

don't get me wrong, I think it's great what you are doing.
But if you are one of those people touting it as in "I'm better than you" I drink, smoke, curse, wear sexy cloths but don't have sex as my saving grace,
quite frankly, I'm not impressed.

There was a guy I went to high school with (way back when) who I overheard say..."I only got some t*t, must be she's a lesbian." I think guys call girls names to make it seem like they're not a failure in the "man department" and girls call other girls names because they are trying to justify their own immoral behavior. You're sound like a really nice person. Ignore that type of person because you will run into idiots every day of your life for as long as you live every time you leave your house.

Don't worry about these things. Just smile at the people that call you a prude. It will drive them crazy, that it's not bothering you.

You are fine. Perhaps you need to explore making some new friends with higher standards. Those people do exist!
