Osteomyelitis is a infection of bone, generally caused by bacteria. It can be very difficult to cure and is painful. I would recommend a search on webmd.com for general info, (spelled OSTEOMYELITIS)

Hi there, so sorry to hear of your condition, I also had Osteomylitis some years ago, I was prescribed Penicillin and painkillers for a whole year and I managed to get cured, I guess I was lucky, but I do understand how painful and debilitating it is, please don't let the consultant give up on you, if need be ask for a second opinion, take care X

Osteomyelitis, is an inflamation of the bone marrow, hence the pain. A cure using conventional western medicine is very difficult in the least and can culminate in amputation of the affected limb.
I have a diploma in herbal medicine, go and see a herbalist, either chinese or western, we won't give up on you.

Find it hard to believe that your consultant has given up on you. Not fair to you. See another doctor-lot of things can be done for chronic osteomyelitis although cure is not instant. Patience is mandatory. What surgeries have you had so far?

He probably hasn't I'm afraid. There are things you can try before you increase your painkillers. I'd recommend a Tens Machine, easily available, ask at your Chemist / Pharmacy and ask your GP to refer you to a PAIN CLINIC. I would also highly recommend a relaxation CD of some kind..and accupuncture?

These solutions have worked for me and worked for my Mum too.

I really feel for you! Its something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy!

Please try these I really hope it helps.

Will you try Chinese medicine methods, as for your condition, routine antibiotic can't easily go into the lesion, it is better to boost your own resistance against infection.

you must be fed up with it all, it's hard and stressful too. But never give up, have you tried cider vingar in warm water. It's a teaspoon of cider vinger to one glass of water and drink it.
