say this, Mom, I understand you are trying to protect me, but I need to do this, I will become a better person if I'm given the chance to learn from my own mistakes.

it depends on how old you are,and what part of your life she interferes with,I'm sure your mother loves you very much and only wants whats best for you. if you want her to butt out just tell her. "mom, i know you're only trying to help out but when you interfer with my life i feel like you don't trust me to make my own decisions." keep in mind that sometimes your mom actually has a good reason to interfere, try listening to her reasoning, you might come to her way of thinking but you really need to add more details.

I think you need to be a little more specific with this but I can relate to having to stand up to a mother that just wants to control any part of you life she can. Being 18 I thought that I might become free of her wrath but it didn't work out. Add somemore details and I'll try my best to help you.

Just calmly but firmly say no. If she doesn't give up, give her specific reasons you are not willing to do what she wants.
