Hi.

Your probably thinking I some pervert or freak for asking this, but I really need to know.

There is a girl that I really like, she's 14 and I'm 18. I've liked her for over a year, but I haven't said anything to her because I'm terrified it'll ruin our friendship. Seriously, she's a really cool person to be around.

Now, I'm not a sex-crazed maniac, I don't care if we can't...you know...but I really want to be with her, I've never fallen for anyone like this before.

So I'm wondering, is it possible for me to go out with her?

So, anyway, thanks for the coments.

Im 15 and my boyfriend is 19.He isnt a sex crazed maniac either. He doesnt even want to have sex he just wants to have a good realtionship. He asked my dad for permission to date me and my dad gave him the rules and he follows them with great respect.Try talking to her parents to see what they think about you and her datting. If they are fine with it, then ask her!Just remember if you two have sex thats considered statutory rape. That way you know what you are getting yourself into ok?Good luck and talk to her parents first.

Only if you live in Arkansas. I am not being smart. The age of consent in AK is 14.
I suppose you could, but I don't think it is a mentally healthy idea. There is a big maturity and experience gap there.
Here is each states law for consent, you can look up yours.

I don't think it is a good idea to get involved with her. While I respect your maturity and understanding on the issue. You sound really sweet but I would think about it. I mean she has rules to follow, and she should be concentrating on school and friends. I don't think 14 yr olds are old enough to really be "dating" as this is a romantic gesture and usually leads to more. Which a 14 yr old is nto ready for by any means.
If you two are as good of friends as you say, wait about 2 yrs. If the feelings are still there, then think about it. But for now be her friend and let her be a child. You will be doing both of you a favor.
Kudos on being a sweet, sensitive, smart, level headed guy. It's nice to see someone asking about this without having sex on the brain, and expressing true emotions!
ADDTIONAL DETAILS RESPONSE::: Well nevermind that website about the states. I guess you could date her....I don't know what the laws are where you live, but still I would give her a chance to grow up a bit first. The kudos still stand though!

I don't think you are a freak or anything, but do think you are treading on serious ground. You may like her a lot, and she may be more mature for her age, but she's 14 - she's just a kid! Not only would you two probably encounter serious problems because of the age gap (I mean, in every way, you would probably be quite different), but it's just not a good idea. What is the age of consent in your country? You could go to jail for having sex with an underaged girl - it's called statuatory rape.

I'm not judging you, I'm just telling you to be careful because you could get into a lot of trouble. I would say, stick with being friends.

Being four years apart isn't a problem. Let her grow up a little more. Wait for about 2 yrs when she is 16 and you're 20. Give her some time to mature. my parents are 4 years apart in age and the have been married for almost 21 years.

thoroughly irrelevant for more effective than a crush and dangerous to be acquaintances. I understand, i have been there, yet you're quite miles aside in words of what you're wondering about and how your bodies are replacing. i'm getting it, i'm nonetheless into older men, yet 14 and 18 are too far aside (and unlawful). Have the crush and the fantasy, they are interesting and important, yet do not go farther than that. For adventure with relationships and relationship, locate someone in route of your own age.

Go ahead. The difference in age is probably less than the age difference between you and your cellmate when you end up doing time for lewd and lascivious acts on a minor.

Funny, You'll be his little girlfriend and probably younger then he is.

Think it through. Play with kids your own age..... You're 18, it's adult sentencing now, whether you're grown up or not.

Since you have been friends for over a year, im going to go out on a limb and assume you've met her parents? if so, before you let her know that you like her and ask her out, id ask her parents if they had a problem with it. If so then hold off longer wait til shes 16 or something.

I would continue to be friends with her until she get a little older but during that time you can tell her how you feel, because of this your friendship with her will grow stronger and if you do move on into a relationship that will last longer because you did decide to wait.

:) good luck with that

Is that really a question? How would you feel if your 14 yr old daughter came home w/ an 18 yr old boy?
