PRAYER

By the leave of God,
The Beneficent,
The Merciful.

Praise be to God,
Lord of the worlds.

The Beneficent, the Merciful.

Owner of the each and the ultimate
Day of Judgement.
O’Lord!
You alone, we worship;
You alone, we ask for help.

Show us always, the right way,
In each and every matter.

The way of those,
whom You have blessed;

Not the way of those,
Who earn Your anger,
Nor of those who go astray.

Aameen!

PRAYER

I seek Refuge in the Lord of Mankind
The King of Mankind
The God of Mankind
From the whisperer who returns over and over again
and whispers evil into the hearts of men
and who are from among jinn and from among men
(Al-Quran)

PRAYER

I seek refuge in the Allah of the Daybreak
From the evil of created things
from the evil of the darkness when it overspreads
from the evil of the blowers on the knots
and from the evil of the envious one when he envies
(Al-Quran)

Prayer and seeking forgivenss from God can save you, nothing else helps. If you are truly repentant and want to be forgiven, seek help and refug ein God. You'll find The AlMighty God Merciful and Kind.

You can do two other things to help in this matter. The first thing you can do is to spend your time in Christ centered activities. If you spend a lot of time watching TV or reading worldly magazines or hanging out with the unsaved then you are going to be feeding your mind the garbage that leads to sinful thoughts.

The second thing you can do has an analogy or a parable to go along with it. It goes like this. No one can stop the birds from flying over their head when they are walking outside but they can stop them from landing on their head and building a nest.

In other words, you can't always control what thoughts might come flying into your consciousness but you can take them captive to Christ and choose not to dwell upon them and instead think of other things.

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me--practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

You have already taken the first step, which is to recognize the subtlety of sin. There are many people on this Yahoo site who have not gotten as far as you in spiritual progress. Here is one way. When an evil or sinful thought attempts a landing (in your consciousness), forbid it. You are in charge. God gave man the power to do this, so use your God-given power and be the victor. You will see change.

No. Sometimes they are from within (your own sinfulness ) or sometimes they are from without (television, friends, fashions, the Devil) Praying is good but, also make sure you do not entertain these thoughts for any length of time. If you get rid of them then they are just a temptation but, if you spend any time with them you could be sinning. If you continue to ignore them eventually they will lessen.

it is really hard and you have to work hard to achieve getting rid of sinful thoughts. Yes, you can pray or you can sing a good song either in your head or out loud that puts your mind on something else, something good. You can sing some type of spiritual/gospel/church song or just any song that has a good message and shifts your thoughts to something good. Try really hard not to think about what you were thinking about before you started to sing the song. You should try to keep your thoughts clean because your thoughts determine your attitude and your actions.

First off, you don't elaborate on what type of sinful thoughts you are having, so the best advice I can offer is seek out a counselor now, before you act on any of those thoughts, this is a starting point. Depending on the type of thoughts you are having, DON"T act on them until you talk to someone. Don't have regrets, and don't take someone with you, to get your thoughts relieved.

The best thing you can do is to learn to recite Romans 6. It is short and deals with what you are having trouble with. Learn it one sentence at a time, it will not take long. I promise that every time you have sinful thoughts and you recite Romans 6, soon the devil will stop tempting you. It works.

Take a Load Off.
Satan is 24-7.
Firey Darts. They ARE comning.
You can't Really Stop them, just RESIST Them (don't continue Thinking about them).
They will Slow down.
Learn to Fight the Good Fight of Faith and give the devil (by Speaking out loud) some Thougts of GOD Almighty----that'll make the devil Fear and Tremble, and back off.
It is In the Bible.

First and foremost know that unless you are a Christian, you are already defeated and dead. However if you are children of God, then the situation is different.

You should know that who you are in Christ. That Jesus has
bought you with a price and He loves you till death on the cross.

Jesus is your victory. You should dwell on that thought.

You are not sinning yet until you commit to those thoughts.
So, just change the focus to Jesus and the Word of God.
Ask God for help. Don't argue with the devil, just flee from evil.

Matthew 6:13 is something you can pray:
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil

James 4:7 says
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 says
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Ephesians 6:10-17 says:
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Matthew 15:11 is instructive: What is going right into a guy’s mouth does no longer make him ‘unclean,’ yet what comes out of his mouth, that's what makes him ‘unclean.’” I man or woman would examine erotica to comprehend temptation and hit upon a thanks to address erotic temptations contained in the mind's eye incredibly than contained in the flesh. on the different hand, Jesus stated that to lust after a woman will be as severe as to devote adultery. consequently, we ought to rein contained in the mind's eye with reason.
