Find out what brings the headaches! I Used to have them all the time before and used to take all the pain killers i could lay ma hands off but nothing was working!
But I discovered I only had them when I had not eaten anythiing, wen my stomach is empty. Even now, wen i go without eating anything for a long time, i get headaches.
Other people it might be water, or even lack of sleep.
both of which too give me headaches if i dont have them.
So find out if the headaches come as a result of not eating, not drinking, not sleeping enough, or anything!
DISCOVER YOUR SELF. And u wont need the pills!!!

You say you've taken so many pills over the years are these only the ones to get rid of your headaches? If not some prescription medicines can actually give you headaches, especially Dihydrocodeine and the likes. Try drinking a bit more water and stay away from fizzy juice, There are also Gel packs that you can get from the Chemist you put them in the fridge for the stated amount of time then put them onto your head. If you find the cold makes your headache worse try a heat pad, you can get pads filled with grain that you heat up in the microwave or electric ones. If your headaches don't go away no matter what you try then ask your doctor to get you an appointment with a neurologist at the hospital.

Have you had a fall or car accident? Sometimes these can cause nerves to be pinched when the vertebrate are out of alignment.
Think about the vertebrate for a minute, they are surrounding all the nerves that run throughout the entire body. That is reason enough for me to have it checked out. All the bodies organs can also be affected by misalignment.
I had severe headaches all my life. I had several car accidents and several gymnastic accidents as well. I started going to a chiropractor and now I am virtually pain free. At least as far as the head aches are concerned.
Although there are many things that can cause headaches,
I would suggest going to a chiropractor and have some ex-rays done to see if there could be a problem. It couldn't hurt. If not some people try acupuncture and find that it helps them. I have not tried it myself though.
Pain relievers only mask the pain and don't help you find out what is wrong and where. Once you have a diagnosis, you can then find a treatment to relieve the pain.
Good luck in whatever you choose to do!

I have had headaches every day for almost a yr, I took alot of meds and really got sick of it. I found a great Chiropractor, who believes in treating the whole spine , not just the area that is hurting( I had whiplash, from an accident). I have been going for 3 weeks now and havent had a headache at all, or a migraine which I use to have also. Look up Spinal Wellness on the web, and find a chiro that is near you , you will be amazed...I sure am

A doctor on television said that 90 percent of headaches in this country could be prevented by avoiding two things, caffeine and MSG. I tried it and it really has been working well for me. Very seldom, once every few years, do I now get a headache. Try modifying your diet to eliminate fast food, junk food, sodas, candy, cookies, most brands of cold cut meats (those that don't say they are free of MSG), as well as prepared foods in cans and boxes. That sounds like a lot, but they started adding MSG to foods back in the 1970s and people have had a lot more headaches and migraines ever since. Some people are just plain sensitive. Please give it a serious try... it worked for my wife and myself.

Different types of headaches require different management. If you are someone who gets migraines (primary symptom being pain on only one side, as well as sensitivity to light and/or sound, and usually helped by being in a dark, cool room), there are some excellent medications out there that really help. If you have sinus headaches (usually felt on both sides of the head and face, and helped by warmth), then some of the over-the-counter preparation containing pseudoephedrine may be useful, as well as a heating pad. Tension headaches may be helped by heat on the neck. If it's bad, and it persists (which it sounds like yours are doing), DEFINITELY see your doctor. She can diagnose much better than someone like me sitting at a computer with an incomplete list of symptoms. Good luck.

Chinese herbal meds could help. They usually taste disgusting but they work a treat for me and stop me from having so many headaches in the first place.
