I have supported my local football team (see my moniker) for a long time and I agree that compared to England our League is quite boring and unexciting.

There is not enough teams in the SPL. It should either be 14 of 16 teams, but this won't happen because the smaller teams will lose Gate and TV revenue from playing Rangers or Celtic twice at home if they manage to get a top six finish.

There is also too much pressure on teams and the thought of dropping down to division 1 really puts the frighteners on players, management and Boards (estimated loss is in excess of 1 million pounds). A team will rather play for a draw than go out for a win. 1 point is better than none at all.

It is a sad fact that 3 SPL teams went into receivership. A couple cut costs so dramatically and cut bonuses that their best players left to go else where and POOR HEARTS ENDED UP WITH VLADIMIR ROMANOV. The other SPL teams he approached have had a very lucky escape.

Until they take away this constant threat of relegation the SPL will always be negative, negative, negative.

On the bright side though teams like Falkirk, St Mirren and Inverness who have come in recently have shown us stagnant ones that Rangers, Celtic and Hearts are all there to be beaten.

i agree with you its a poor league, needs some more good teams like Bolton, Portsmouth, Fulham, Reading, Blackburn, Wigan, Watford, Sheffield, Charlton, yeah right, wake up to yourself, in England just like Scotland, they have a few teams that win it every year, we could play more games against crap like that but who would want to, maybe Liverpool would, but they are behind a couple of them teams i just mentioned lol
