Well a party out of state with your love sounds like a great thing to me.
I think of New Years Eve as a "couples" holiday, more than a family one, but thats up to you.

If you do the same thing every year, why not try something different and new?

if you would rather spend it with your family, then that's your decision, and your boyfriend shouldn't make you feel bad. try to work out some sort of compromise, like doing something with your family early in the night, to include him, and then go to the party or some other likely compromise. if your boyfriend is reasonable, he should have no problem with it. good luck.

Why is it so important to him to be out of state? Is he planning to take you somewhere special that doesn't exist where you live? Maybe he's gonna propose? Maybe he wants to go to a game thats being played in that state?

Depends on the reason why and what the plans are as to what I'd rather do.

Do you always spend the holidays with the fam? If so, explain to them that this is just a one shot deal and you still love them but they have to understand that to you he's family also and that he might just be their family too! So they might as well get used to missing you for the holidays. If your family really cares and loves you they'll understand. But if they remain selfish over you can you blame them?

I would do what I wanted...hang out with all of my family and friends. Is he opposed to staying with you, or does he really want to go to this party? Maybe you could compromise...

I'd rather hang out with my family and friends. More fun, less romantic crap.

Your boyfriend should not be making you feel bad for your choice; big no-no on his part. Don't let him guilt you into going if you really don't want to go.

it doesn't matter what anyone else would do, it matters what you want to do you should do whatever makes you happy and if you boyfriend would make you feel bad about that then maybe he isn't worth your time anyway. a boyfriend/girlfriend huband/wife is supposed to make you happy they are supposed to inspire you

good luck
