I believe you can. The chicken pox virus can reappear as shingles, as well. My grandchildren were immunized for chickenpox as babies, but this summer at ages of 5 and 9, they both had a re-occurrence, but it was not as bad as having a full blown case of chicken pox. They just had the spots, no fever.

Yes you can! Most people can get chicken pox 2-3 times. Your body should build up an immunity after the first 2 times so that you do not contract them again, but it is possible. I had them 4 times before I was 11 years of age.

It IS possible to have chicken pox more than once. I used to know someone who had it 2 times before the age of 12. Usually, it can reappear as shingles.

A bout of chicken pox ordinarily confers lifetime immunity. There is now a vaccine available for chicken pox.

It's very rare but it does happen.
One of my sisters in-law came down with them a week before her wedding and she'd had them as a child. She had to have shots for that and because they were going overseas for their honeymoon. It's a lot more severe if you get them as an adult which is why a lot of mothers will expose their kids to it if they know someone who has them. A friend of mine once brought her daughter over to play when my son had them.

Had chicken pox twice in childhood, and maybe one very moderate time as adult. Read somewhere that over time your body losses defense put in place by previous exposure.

It's possible, but highly unlikely. It all depends on the severity of the first case you had. Your body develops Immunities after you get them the first time.

I was just told today that yes you can get them although I have always been around my nieces and nephews when they had them.
My brother and his wife got them when they were in their 30's for the first time.

in general no but if they were not bad enough your body may not have built up an immunity to them and you could in fact get them again.
