in leviticus it states that homosexuality is an abomination. i have heard that an abomination means that it is something that is grotesque. and i've heard that an abomination means that its an unforgivable sin. in mathew jesus says, 'whosoever believeth in me, shall not perish, but have enternal life.' it doesn't say, 'whosoever believeth in me, but isn't gay, shall not perish...' there is no choice in the matter of sexuality. and it states in the bible that God won't punish us for something we have no control over. can i have an explanation, if any, that will support the fact that homosexuality is unforgivable even if the person believes in God?

the bible has been misinterpereted many times. for example, at one time most people believed that the 3 wisemen made it to the stable where jesus was born, the night he was born.

Well it seems that the writers, editors, and even more editors of Leviticus didn't like it, or they had to write/edit the materials to please whoever was in charge at the time.
Many people today think of homosexuality as "grotesque." Many people today think of heterosexuality as "grotesque." I'll bet the same thought patterns existed back then. However, the Bible writers / editors were apparently biased or, for the sake of their own lives and welfare, simply being loyal to whoever was in charge at the time.
I don't see the moral integrity in the Leviticus comments. I think they should be shunned/disgarded as irrelevant.

Yes all sin can be forgiven, but one has to ask t be forgiven and one has to repent and then one has to stop sinning. All illicit sex is a sin (sex outside of marriage) why because it makes one think they are the body and can create so many other sins from that sin. We are not the body we are spirit soul and to get out of the material world we have to surrender fully to God and give up all material attachments. Otherwise we will take birth again to try again and again and again. Go to www.essene.org and they will show you all the mistranslations in the bible and they have the lost teachings found in the basement of the vacican Read You Mean That's in the Bible- shows so many mistranslations and where King Constantine strickened everything to do with reincarnatnion for m the bible to controll his subjects. It was easy to do then because only high priests and government had bibles and a few other people.

Here is where you get off track.
"i have heard that an abomination means that it is something that is grotesque. and i've heard that an abomination means that its an unforgivable sin."
The only unforgivable sin is to fail to turn from your sins to Jesus for salvation like the people in the church of Corinth did when the Apostle Paul preached the gospel message to them.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Notice that Paul writes "and such WERE some of you". That's the good news, no matter where a person comes from when they turn to Jesus and receive God's Holy Spirit they become a new creation on the inside and receive power to overcome the sinful desires that characterized their old life.
As someone who was a drunkard and a fornicator for all of my adult life before becoming a Christian but who has indulged in neither activity since I can testify to the truth of this statement.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Even though the world would say that I am a recoving alcoholic, I don't go to AA meetings or do any of that stuff. Instead I serve the Lord and He keeps me free from falling back into sinful ways. I'm not married but I don't engage in fornication either because God is making me more like Jesus and less like my old self every day of my life.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

an abomination is something so vile that it causes the reflex action to vomit.
There is only one unforgivable sin, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. It does say that whosoever believes in Chirst shall not perish but have eternal life.....However, believing is not enough. Even the Demons believe on the name of Jesus Chirst AND Tremble. (James 2:19)
You must also turn from your sin (Matt.7:21) "Not everyone who says to me, "Lord Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, only he who does the will of my father who is in heaven"
Also: 2 Tim. 2:19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "EVERYONE WHO CONFESSES THE NAME OF THE LORD MUST TURN AWAY FROM WICKEDNESS."

If you want an honest answer I would say to an anorexic, a witch, a child offender etc, the same thing. We all have to fight our flesh which is weak against certain urges we all get. There's always that certain lust or adventure of going against the moral maj. that seems so vital but it's not. We HAVE to take God's Word as vital (it is a narrow path), I have many things I have to curb(like partying, swearing, ETC)& I hope you take charge also. God Bless

it doesnt have to be said 'whosoever believeth in me, but isn't gay, shall not perish... the Bible agrees with other verses. when you turn into a christian, your life changes, and your saved and have a new life, (which means you can't be gay if you are trully saved) i am just saying whats in the bible, im not saying anything bad about gays.
but i dont want to start and argument about how gays can't be true christians or whatever. i have nothing against gays.
:-)

Leviticus says *lots* of things are abominations.
Jesus never said a word about homosexuality.
("show of hands"? How can you see our hands?)
: )
Edit -- I *know* what the phrase "show of hands" means: I was being whimsical. Thus the smiley face following my comment.
When you say ch 18, are you speaking of Leviticus? Those were not the words of Jesus. I said *Jesus* never said anything about homosexuality.

Mary Magdalene, "sin no more"
I think this is a quote from God Himself.
Believe it, Live It.
We all have choices in life, we are not controlled by instincts. Humanity is more enlightened than that don't you think? Expand your horizons!

NO CONTROL OVER?
bullshit!
First off you shouldnt be having pre-marital sex with anyone.
second, ive heard of people who have never had sex in thier lives.
third, that whole "Fag is in my genes" thing, COMPLETE BULLSHIT!!!
If your DNA controls who you want to have sex with (men or women) then that would mean that a person who doesnt do the norm(male and female) would be insane.
so I think we should put all the gays into a mental hospital and shove pills down thier throats until they turn straight.
..thats what we do with all the other insane people right.
