The mother lost custody of two older (7 and 9) children and is afraid if she seeks child support the father of the infant will start wanting visitation and she doesn't want that.

Should she seek child support and contact because the infant needs contact with her father?

P.S. What kind of person would impregnate someone and then not want to have any contact??????????

You don't really make sense........you say the father does not want any contact, then you say that the mother is afraid if she seeks child support he will want visitation and SHE doesn't want that.

It takes a slimeball to get a girl pregnant and then up and leave and not support the child. However, that's exactly why girls should KNOW the guys they are sleeping with and not spread their legs for any guy that will take it.

However, if she is the one that doesn't want him to have contact with the child, she is a poor excuse for a mother. A child deserves to have the opportunity to have a mother and father in their lives...and each parent deserves to BE part of their childs life.

Ok, that mother deserves child support. If the father did something to make the mother not want any contact then she should have nothing to worry about, because the courts almost always vote in favor of mothers. But you definately should get some child support. I mean he helped make this child right.

Sorry to say but it happens daily,. However it doesn't matter if your mother gets child support or not.. if the father wants no contact then he will just be a pay check. to is child.. Its your mother choice on what she feel is the best needs of the children

I have this situation in my life but the father is unstable and I refuse him in my childs life to protect her from his insanity, not that he asks to see her unless he wants money. Is there a reason the mother doesn't want this guy to see the child other than he walked out? If he is a decent guy and is willing to pay child support I think he should be given a second chance, but only one.

More than likely if he didn't want contact then he won't now. I have a friend who just went through the same thing, and she did ask for child support and he pays now, but still doesn't care to see the girl. And to answer your last question, too many people!

if father doesn't want contact then its probably better for the child that hes doesn't see them. its hard to imagine a father not wanting contact with their child but most of the time they are immature and not thinking of the possibility of a pregnancy when they commit the act. and if they did it was a purely emotional decision and they have since changed their mind.the decision to seek child support is completely up to mom. possibly she will find a decent husband who will support them both and it would be easier for him to adopt the child.everything will work out.

tell her to ask for child support if she needs it. if she needs it and gets it tell her to tell the judge she is breast feeding or tell them the REAL reason/ reasons she doesn't want the father to have contact
