Road trip Help!?

My friend and I want to take a road trip in the spring or late winter and are leaving from the northern part of california. We got $$ and dont know where to go, we are 2 adults both 21 and over and want to know where in a 4 state raduios or so are the best places to go. Any ideas?

Go into S. Utah-N. AZ, great places to see- but not much nightlife. That way you can work your back through Vegas and Reno and take care of the nightlife part.
