Registered Nurse here. You need to see a neurologist, or ophthalmologist immediately. Or your primary care physician. I'm not trying to alarm you, or indicate you have something terrible wrong with you. But losing eyesight for 10 seconds is far to complicated for anyone here on Yahoo to speculate about. PLEASE GO TO THE DOCTOR AND SOON.

even when eyesight decreases, it can get worse and worse, but you will never get blind so that you can't see even with glasses. all you do is kick up your prescription. but...that has happened to me when I'm playing tennis-i can't see and everything goes black and I lose the point. but...it clears up i think it has something 2 do w/the sun

I'm also a nurse. Sudden changes in vision may mean a stroke. Get it checked out ASAP!

my grand mother used to complain of the same thing. her doctor told her that it was the beginning of glaucoma and eventually if not treated can cause blindness.
