Is it necessary for God to command us to be fruitful and multiply when in fact we carry in our genes the insatiable urge to have sex and consequently the fulfillment of his commandment without a sacrificial effort to deny ourselves on our part?

If God commanded something then I know that it was necessary. He told Adam and Eve to be fruiful and multiply they probably did not know anything about sex. They were the first people. IF you have an insatiable urge to have Sex as you said you may need some help. Im not trying to be funny but just concerned. God's intent is for us to marry One man And one Wife and not for us to be sleepng with this and that person.

Satan and sin is where the the "insatiable urge to have sex" comes from not God. You are taking God's word out of it's intended context to justify what ever it is you do in your personal life. Waht ever that may be. A Christian knows to refraign from fornication and out of marriage sex.

You have an insatiable urge; that doesn't mean everyone does. Part of growing, or evolving, is that we grow up and put off old habits.

yes, god commanded us to be fruitful and multiply and it's really part of human nature to have the urge of having sex. because sex is actually part of god's plan.

I have random thoughts as well!!!! It is so cool to know someone else does too!!! My thoughts are usually involving going forth and multiplying but I try to ignore those thoughts. I once heard someone say there were a few golden rules in life and one of them is "you shouldnt believe everything you think..." I think if god wrote the bible he/she would have put this one in it. Just another random thought!!!!

In the old days, to be fruitful and multiply meant having a dozen or so kids. Do you want to be fruitful in this respect?

well, see, religion & science can at times not make sense when put together or even contradict each other
