Very Skilled Marksman were deployed and sent oversea's. Each Soldier went through rigorous Artillery Training at Basic Camp. If these men/women were assigned to Artillery, that is exactly where they spent many hours a day training and were trained in Machine guns, Quad 50's. Each Soldier was out on the shooting and firing range, to train. Many of our American Soldier were well trained , as they stepped aboard the Troop Ships that carried them oversea's, They trained rigorously on the M-1's, and 30 Calibur Carbines. Many young men/women were presented with the Marksman Medal. So I don't know where that idea came up about the Skilled Marksman, NOT being deployed during world war 2. Our United States Soldiers were well trained. America won the second world war.
