Has to be worth £5000+

If you can find ayone who wants it, it may bring 5,000 at auction. most likely about 2,000 is all you can get. the reality is that the people in the business of valuing and selling for you overvalue to get you excited and interested. Things like antiques roadshow and Barrett Jackson are just hype for the rich and rip off of hopes for the poor. Nothing is worth more than someone else will pay for it. I'll pay 7,000 for a 63 Corvette but nothing for your Volkswagon. It is a buyers market but with a lot of careful planning and work with the right auction you can get the 5,000.

I don't know if a kelly blue book will give you a value on your vw, but I do know that with that few miles should bring you about 5-6,000$, being in good shape and mechanically sound, my sister in law sold hers that was totally redone for 6500. good luck
