I am a muslim and i wonder how people get their ideas about muslims being "terrrorists"

The same thing I think about people of all faiths... Accept and respect me for who I am beliefs and all, and I'll accept and respect you equally. Reject or denigrate me, then I'll respect your freedom to believe as you choose but will not respect you for holding such a narrow view of the world.
I get this "idea" from living in a diverse community, and it's one I find the healthiest for living peacefully.
PS - the association to terrorism many hold is largely based on a biased media portrayal (maybe due to simple ignorance but probably done for ratings), and the Christian right nazi's that are happy to use fear to boost their power - kinda like extremists of any religion. The reality that the US citizen very rarely hears Muslim leaders speaking out strongly against terrorism and middle eastern terrorist also has a lot to do with it. And lets face, our cultures are very different, and many people fear what they do not know and understand - sad, but that's the way of the species and has been from the beginning of time. Keep in mind, all of this works both ways. Many if not most Middle Easterners have an idea of what a Westerner is that's just not fundamentally true.

u can find a good ppl and a bad ppl around the whole world and the same wiv muslims,u can always find good ppl and bad ppl but i know those very religious muslims r the VERY good,i got this idea coz i had muslim friends,they was cool but still there was few of them who wasnot as cool as the others,but one of them was a VERY religious girl (at the beggnin i didnot like her coz i thought she is very narrow minded and strict girl)but once i got to know her well i liked her the best

I think we need to be very careful of what we say about Muslims. Anything said that may be negative, we will have a Muslim that reports the answer and yahoo will threaten to ban you. Christianity is still the only belief that is open and fair game.

I think Muslims are human beings who would appreciate it if you just leave them alone...The "Muslims" you're always critising are fanatics, which the Islamic Religion is totally innocent from

I don't think much of them. period. Maybe I get this from the ones who strap bombs to themselves and walk into crowded places full of innocent people and blow themselves up in the name of God. I just don't think the true and merciful God works this way.
P.S. They should take a better look at what they are doing and why.

stubborn and stupid.
from yahoo answers, they just dont accept things, if i point out any think is islam, they say " christianity is also doing similar thing", or dumb answer like " because islam is truth", i dont think they know what they are doing.
