It could be sloth, which I believe is a sin (I have to check, so I'll update this later). I think that even those who work outside of the home (like most people, except me!) can still at least do a little (picking up after themselves would be the bare minimum). This paragraph sure has a lot of parentheses!
Ecclesiastes 10:18
18 If a man is lazy, the rafters sag; if his hands are idle, the house leaks.
Proverbs 6:9-11
9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest-
11 and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.
Proverbs 12:24
24 Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.
Proverbs 13:4
4 The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
Proverbs 18:9
9 One who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys.

It is the Mode of Ignorance according to the Vedas. There is action in the mode of goodness, passion and ignorance. I use to be that way but realized I was useless. Eventually I took up Krishna Consciousness and became purified. My mom and dad Being Christian did not like the idea but when they saw may house became immaculate and my habits changed from the worst to the best they like my understanding of God. They even talk about Krishna as another name for God. If you could chant the name of God OR who ever it is you are concerned about you can get out of the mode of ignorance. Also you have to have a reason to clean. I make my house my temple so it is now Gods house and He likes it really clean. Laziness or being slovenly. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Not sure about a sin but certainly not very conducive to good health.

Forgive me but isn't that why we have domestics. No disrespect intended to anyone.
