yes! they are really loveable dogs, their so sweet! and im pretty sure they are easy to train, but there is one thing you need to know. if you get one, make sure that it dont jump off the couch alot, or off the bed, because they have small legs, and it can really hurt them. i have a friend that had a dashhound, and one night it heard something outside or something, and it jumped off her bed, and it broke its back and it ended up dyeing.... so careful with it. and good luck with your new dog if you decide to get one!

oh. not all are great. Some may be aggressive because I've actually seen on. At my petsmart class, there was this BEATIFUL long haired dashhound but it wouldn't want to play with other dogs. And if any dogs did come by, it would bark and bark. I'm not sure why because it was a puppy class, meaning it's suppose to be trained to associate with other dogs, and it never took a liking to any of the dogs. Very strange. But training, I would say that dog was a very good student! I would love to get a dashhoud someday so, I SAY THUMBS UP to one!

To start ALL dogs are fun to play with. I think big dogs are more fun because they are so much smarter and complex than small dogs but there are small dogs who are intelligent. Dachshunds are definitely complicated, but they are extremely stubborn and hard to train. I have a friend who has one and she is having a terrible time housebreaking and also a rough time of the puppy refusing to listen. She has a dapple mini. I've played with her pup and ad no problems with her but I think dogs need to know who the leader is and they can sense that right away in a persons presence. I've always had good success with dogs. Anyway if this is your first dog I would recommend you get an easier to work with dog. Toy Fox Terrier's are cool dogs although I haven't any experience with them.

any dog can be fun, complicated, easy or hard to train. no matter what kind of dog it comes with the same responsibility. They are like babies and require full attention. good luck!!

i love dashounds! i have two of them. yes they can have a mind of their own sometimes. but once you train them and let them bond only to you they become great pets.
