I would keep it & put up found signs. But first & foremost I would take it to the vet for a check up. The vet can check it for a chip to see if the owners had one inserted. & since it seems to have been outside for awhile, get it checked for fleas. We found some kittens & did not do that & it's been a nightmare getting rid of them.
If you are going to take it to a shelter try to place it at a no-kill facility. The poor little thing has probably been traumatized enough by being homeless.
If you do keep it, you will find that it probably will be the most rewarding thing you've done. Animals are so sweet and loving and you can never go wrong by giving one a forever home.

If you think you might want to keep it, take it to the vet right away, it may have worms or other parasites. Feed it small amounts of wet food (Purina, Friskies, 9 Lives) and a little water right now until you decide what to do. Please don't let it outside to do it's business, it will just wander off again. You will have to get it a pan with some litter, both cheaply found at the grocery store.
If you don't want to keep it, take it to the Humane Society. A declawed cat outdoors can't hunt and that probably why it's so skinny. If the owners are worried about their cat they would have notified local animal shelter and humane society and they will know if the cat belongs to an owner that cares. Also, the cat might be "chipped" and they can run a reader over it's shoulders that will show who the owner is.
Even if you don't keep it, picking it up and taking it to the shelter is much more humane than letting it starve because it has no claws to hunt. You did a good thing.

Glad you have rescued the poor thing. Do you have other cats? If so, you must keep this little thing separate from them until the vet has done some blood work and cleared the cat of feline leukemia and FIV.
I think people who have lost cats will put up signs and pictures if they are concerned about their cat. You should register the cat with the local shelter or humane society as a "found" cat.
I hope you can keep it and time will tell. Give it a quiet place by itself for a few days with a litterbox, water and some good cat food. Watch to see if the cat is very frightened. Unfortunately declawed cats will bite out of fear so always approach it cautiously and make friends slowly.
I would give it as much time as you can for "recuperation" if you cannot keep it permanently. Please get a bottle of Rescue Remedy from a health foods store and treat the cat with that rather intensely for a few days. You can put it in the water dish and, if you can, put a few drops on the fur between the cat's ears for a week or so at least three to four times a day.The application to the fur would be best as cat's don't drink very much water. This will help the cat to adjust more easily to the new situation and calm present fears and help it erase the trauma of abandonment and negative experiences it had while on its own in a strange world. It cannot harm the cat in any way and will do wonders for a happy emotional adjustment.

I would take it right away to the vet because alot of srays end up with worms from eating garbage and it will also need vaccination.Just to make sure everything is ok take it in to get checked. You go that if you are planning on keeping it but if it was declawed then your probably right and it belongs to someone so I would do exactly what you said .You could either call and give the info about the cat so if someone calls then they can direct the person to you or drop it off and the society wor vet will take it from there. It might even have a chip so they can find the owner. It is probably best to take it in and ask that they call you if noone claims the cat.In the meantime you could always put out flyers.

I think that you bringing it home says allot. You must want to take care of it. I think you should. If you take it to an animal shelter there is no guarantee that they will not put it down or find a home for it.
If you are concerned about the owner missing it then you could put up a picture and a description of the cat around the area you found it in and put its picture in the paper as well. If no one claims it and you haven't fallen in love with it by then, then you can always put another picture in the paper to find it a loving home.

Go ahead and put up a ''Found'' flyer. Don't give too much information, let the potential owner do the describing. Also, if you have the room, go ahead and get a throw-away litter box, and put him/her in a bathroom or another room with tile instead of carpet (in case he/she isn't litterbox trained). Give it about a week, then consult local rescues (no-kill), and see if they have room. Consider fostering, if need be. Most will get the cat vet-checked, and all that good stuff.
A local shelter that isn't no-kill, is probably the LAST resort, if you are unable to keep him/her yourself, or find a home for this cat.

It might have been lost for sometime. If you don't want to keep it, put a Found sign or take it to the nearest humane society. If you want to keep it, take it to the vet and take care of it. I think you will make a very good pet owner, picking up a stray skinny cat is a wonderful thing.

I would keep it, and put up a sign near where you found it.
The sad idea is that someone may have abandoned the poor thing after mutilating it's feet ! A pox upon any such being!
Anyway, the cat is lucky to have found you from the looks of things.
Good Luck
PS
Have you take it to a vet yet? If not please do so.

I would post a found ad in the local paper by your work. Then if you don't get a response keep her. My girlfriend has a very healthy although VERY skinny cat and it is very well taken care of.
Give somebody the chance to be reunited with their beloved pet. You don't know, she may be dearly missed by someone.
