Vomitting and congestion in 6 week old puppies is not to be ignored. Congestion could be a sign of dog flu or pneumonia, and the vomitting could be anything from a parasitic infestation to Parvo.

Take BOTH puppies to the vet immediately. What one has the other has probably already gotten, whether it's showing symptoms or not.

If you got the dogs from a breeder or a pet shop, you may be eligible for compensation (of your veterinary bills) under the "doggie lemon laws". Contact your vet, find out what's wrong with your dogs, and then contact the person who sold/gave them to you. If these two pups are sickly, you can bet that the whole litter is sickly, too

Another reason why pups shouldn't go to new homes before 8 weeks, besides the pups needing the extra weeks of socialization training from their mother...so all required innoculation shots can be administered and take effect.

Please get both of these pups to the vet, ASAP. It could be, hopefully, as simple as you changed the food and she is having a bad reaction. But it could be deadly, Parvo or Distemper.

Do contact the breeder and report the problem.

The breeder sold you a sick pup. The chances are very high that the other pup will get sick too. If the puppy is really bad, she needs to go to the vet tonight. If she isn't too bad, take her in first thing in the morning. Call the breeder and tell them your puppy is sick!

I agree with Hummersathome and gitana's answers. If your pet is ill, it requires a vet to make the diagnosis. Actually, you should take both to the vet just to make what is wrong with the sick pup isn't contagious and to insure the healthy one stays healthy.

If the pet is ill - TAKE IT TO THE VET ASAP!!!

She may have a respiratory infection and need antibiotics. Fluid in the lungs can be fatile. Unless you do not care whether she lives or dies I would take her to the vet. Good luck to you and your new puppies!

Separate her from the other puppy. Take her to the vet ASAP. She is sick and if you want to keep her healthy, she needs treatment. They can give her shots to make her feel better.

My question is why is the concept of taking a sick animal to the vet such a difficult one for people to understand?
