Yes, and yes. I got anxiety when I was in pain 24-7 for 4 yrs. my job was being sold and I had to go for major surgery and couldn't work all at the same time. It's been overm a year and I have anxiety less often. haven't went back to work, can't, still in pain and getting used to not working, but it's very depressing and does cause anxiety when I dwell on it. Not as often though.

yes anxiety can happen out of the blue and an event can cause anxiety. I started having panic attacks a couple of years ago. My attacks are usually work related. For me situations where I feel trapped cause my anxiety. Since they've started I quit the job I was at because I realized the people and situations there really stressed me out and I felt totally out of control of them. I also get in dating relationships and can't handle the possibility of them being long term. However, I've been facing some of my fears and the panic/anxiety has occurred less and less. I'm kind of an indecisive person and it seems like my anxiety helps me decide when there is something I'm not ok with. I am also understanding that sometimes my anxiety comes from my thought processes and I might have to check those and make sure that I'm thinking more positive. So just want to let you know that it can get better and it may be you body trying to tell you something.

For people with an anxiety disorder, it can come out of no where, and yes, it can be situational. Just like depression can be. It may last a day or more.

anxiet is very complex. i suffer from panic attacks, and never really know what triggers them. other people may have certain triggers which will cause avoidance behaviors. most attacks however are short lived, but the affects of shame, embarrassment and a lack of understanding are what left for us to deal with on the long term
