How do I restore 70 year old interior hardwood window sills?

The timber is unpainted but has a dark stain. The surface is very rough and uneven.

you should make use of strip e-z follow the direstions then sand them smooth and coat them with clear polly urthine do not add mopre stan or they willbe very dark

it' probably has a clear varnish finish on it . Just sand ,stain and seal
