I have 2 degrees in vocal performance. That is a very broad question. First of all, understand that your whole body is used in singing, not just your larynx (viocebox). Go get the vocal technique book by Richard Miller, The Structure of Singing, that is a big read and I don't know how old you are, but it will give you pics. and a better visual of what you are doing while singing. Breath and focus of your tone are important and that will give you exercises too. Best wishes!

i've been singing since i was a toddler, there is no quick and easy way of improving your voice, that takes years and years of practice and experience. i think i sing better now than when i was 20 [im 55 now!] and my diary stands as evidence of that as i'm gigging more now than ever!
fact is your either born with a voice or not. if not, you may need to develop a persona, eg if your not Pavarotti, or Rod Stewart, you may be able to imitate that style or whatever style you think you can do best.
first thing you need to do is record you-self on quality equipment, and listen to it objectively, remember Frank Sinatra was one of the worlds top singers, but he would look a right dick trying to sing like Ozzy Ozborne

Practice. Learn the range and style of your voice and sing from the heart. I also learned to sing better once I started to play instruments. Many of the most well known singers don't like the way they sing and were criticized for their voices in their early days--neil young, dylan, billy corgan, johnny rotten, janis joplin, etc...many of those people (and others) went with the theory that they enjoyed singing and it didn't matter what other people thought---now they are widely respected for singing...

Here's one: before you attempt a really high note, take a very quick breath through your nose (not your mouth). It can help with those high parts. I was told this a couple of weeks ago by a retired voice coach and it helped in a classical piece I performed recently. Also, sing from the diaphragm.

Practice your scales and arpeggios in the range you have now, and slowly start expanding it back to where it was by gradually bringing it higher/lower. This not only with lengthen your range but will also strengthen your voice.
