I mean for people who dnt belive in God and religion what do they think of people doing bad things , leading a easy life by doing fraud, being dishonest etc and getting away with it, whereas other people leading an honest life, going out of thier way to be straight , workinng hard, dont u tink there is a power above us who judges us in these things, dont u tink it be too easy if people jus commit sin knowing nothing can happen cuz they don't belive and have nothing to worry about, dont think you think thats bit unfair and only way to look at it is that there has to be a power (GOD.RELIGION) which can be guide the good people, otherwise it does not make sense in not beliving, its like saying u can do whatver u want, rape, robbery, fraud etc and u wnt go hell cuz it dnt exist, and the people who be kind, gnereous etc end up as those people who do bad things as nothing is after this life, how do you Non-Believers say about this, not having a go but just curious and wanna hear ur side.

Being honest or dishonest has nothing to do with religion. I am a die hard atheist and frown upon those who lead a dishonest life. In addition, I am one of the most honest person you will ever meet (ironically, much more than my religious friends). I don't think you get punished or rewarded in the afterlife, I think you get punished and rewarded in your current life.

Nope. Don't believe in getting judged. Don't believe that anything will happen when we die as it's a natural part of life, not a supernatural one.

People who do bad things, that's their choice. They choose to hurt others and themselves. Obviously, it's not a good choice, because they know hurting others is wrong. They know they're inflicting harm and hurting others and their guilt as well as the justice system is enough of a punishment. They're certainly not getting away with it. Their crimes will catch up with them sooner or later, they always do, and they know it.

Far as good people, well, most people ARE good. They live honest, hard working lives, and don't require a reward to keep living good lives. If the only reason a person lived a good, decent life was because they got a reward, not because it was right to help others instead of harm them, then there's not much point to living. After all, the people doing harm such as robbing banks, hey, they're getting a reward, too, just at the expense of others.

Helping others is its own reward. If you help someone and "be good" just because you expect a reward, either in this life or the next, that's not true goodness. It's a selfish sort of goodness. True goodness comes from the heart, helps people when it's needed, without reward or even a "thank you".

And just because atheists say that Hell doesn't exist, doesn't mean that we think a person can go out and rob, rape, and murder and get away with it. If we could, everyone'd be doing it. Those things are crimes and "sins" because they inflict harm on another, not because we're going to some mythical pit of fire when we die. We came from nothingness and return to nothingness, end of story.

It is true that being non religious doesnt mean you are more likely to commit a crime. Most likely, religious people commit as many if not more crimes than atheist people. People such as chriscros, who have answered on this topic previously, have called for self responsibility. Yet, he calls religious stories fairy tales, insulting many people who believe in those "fairy tales" which for me is very irresponsible what ever your beliefs.

My point though is this. There are 2 possibilities. Either God or a supreme being of some kind does exist, or he does not. If God does not exist, then it is fine, whether we believe or not will make no difference when we die. On the other hand, if he does exist, there will be alot of people who will regret it deeply. So why not just believe in a God, regardless of whether he may exist or not and play it safe? To me, this makes more sence than anything else. By not believing you are putting yourself at great risk, especially with something you can not prove in this life. I cant prove to you that God exists, but on the other hand you can not prove to me that he doesnt. So why be arrogant and risk it?

In reference to "Little white bull" who tells us to believe in science fact not daft stories, and he quotes einsteins theory of relativity E=MC2. In using that equation and applying it to the universe, einstein came up with the first theory of the big bang. His problem though, was that this theory actually implied that the universe had to have a creator. Why? because as the heat from the radiation given out from the big bang has cooled over the billions of years since it occured his equations showed and it has now been proven that not only was the big bang correct, but it was created from a singularity ( or no volume) This event must require the existence of a creator, either natural or supernatural (i.e God). So why did religions not like talking about science before? its because people who have faith, never needed science to prove something they already knew.

Look, life is good ...normal people don't want to die.....so along comes any type of religious bod ...give me money...do as I say etc etc..you will have everything in something called the next life.....if not come back and see me for a refund(It's Insurance)......what a con ......(but don't think it or some God will get you) when you die you revert back to the same state as before you were born....No Memories educate yourself with science fact not daft stories,
learn about the big bang E=MC 2 P.S no religion spoke of anything scientific until science published it ......then they come up with more daft interpretations but no proof,I rest my case

First of all, those people who do not believe in existence are going around with their ears and eyes shut. Existence is God! it cannot ever be anything else. As for those people who live dishonest lives.....they do not live, they do not contribute anything to society, they are empty and worthless people, but they are also human and must be pitied.
Even God lives in them too, but they will go on and on doing bad things until one day who do you think they try to turn to if the sh*t hits the fan? God of course. God wont be there because they dont believe. God is there all the time but you do have to believe. You cannot just use God as a convenient way of getting out of the trouble you are in. It only works if you take God on board in your life and in your heart. God is everything, but he does not like being taken advantage of. it just does not work out that way.
Just remember that 'after the game' the king and the pawn go back in the same box. No one gets away with death.

I'd like to believe in God but events around the world constantly dispel any form of caring entity. Unfortunately people these days, even many "upstanding citizens" have no sense of honour whatsoever. Therein lies the problem as nobody is afraid of what will happen when they die as in life bad deeds are rarely punished as they should be. The church used to hold sway over the uneducated masses with stories of brimstone and fire which held them in thrall and kept them in line. This was ridiculous as it appears to me that senior figures in the history of the church simply feathered their own nests.
Even nowadays I find it contemptable that church figures and other "do gooders" eg Bob Geldof prattle on about aid for starving war torn countries whilst living a life of luxury.
I've digressed slightly as i'm only practicing typing but my answer to your question is that there are simply not enough honourable people.

Well, this is my brief response to your question. Most of the conflicts on this planet are caused by religious people who believe in a higher power.Let's face it,a lot of them do some pretty nasty things in the name of religion. If people want to believe in god, then so be it.That's fine with me.If,however,I choose not to believe in these things, then that is my choice. You can be non religious and be a good person. That works the other way too.Look,I'm an atheist,a non believer, but I would'nt hurt a fly.Just look at these priests who sexually abuse young children.I know not all men of the cloth are bad,but a lot of them are.Furthemore, who are the ones who strap explosives to their waist and blow up innocent men, women and children in the name of god?Yes,that's right, the religious fanatics driven by their evil ideology. It seems to me that religion causes a great deal of harm.By the way,I'm not having a go,I'm just being logical and realistic.

It is like this. I am not so weak that I need the threat of hell and promise of heaven to make me be a good person. When people did not have civilization and did not work together as much they were worse off. When we work together society can get more complex and build up. Technology comes, etc. By following laws, and working together the world is more fun. People are social creatures. Monkeys, apes, wolves, etc are social creatures and work together because it helps them. Empathy is a characteristic of evolution of social creatures.

It's 50/50...

If there is no GOD, then dishonest people have nothing to worry about and can continue being as dishonest as they like...

If there is a GOD (Universal Justice), then they will pay for their actions somewhere down the line...

However, if there is no GOD, and you knew someone to be dishonest - Then you just could just KILL them if they ever F**KED you over, with no comeback - What a wonderful world that would be!

Let's hope Science soon proves that there is no GOD, as it would result in the complete breakdown of society!

PS. I do not follow any Religion, and I am NOT an Atheist (Until Science proves otherwise)...

"MY GOD, ITS FULL OF STARS".

I wish rapists and murderers would end up rotting in hell - but they'll just end up rotting in the ground same as me.

Not believing makes a lot more sense than believing, you know. I struggle to understand how on earth you can honestly believe in a very ancient book of fairytales.
