A few months ago during the summer I passed out for a while on a floaty in my pool and had the worst sunburn on my chest and arms. Thought its gone away, you can still see a difference in color where the burn was, its uneven and my upper arms are freckled and the hair grows in a different direction. Will I have this burn for the rest of my life?

No, it will eventually fade away but the next time you are at your docs show him the area. Recent studies have shown that people who have had severe burns from the sun on tender parts of their body are more prone to skin cancer in those areas, so you want to show your doc this so he can watch it for you. Next time out in the sun, make sure you wear the highs spf block on those areas.

As a fellow recipient of a bad sunburn (on the back of my neck), I can tell you that it should go away in time. It will take quite a while though.

If you are genuinely concerned, go to your family physician and have him/her suggest you to a specialist.
