Real is something that doesnt change with the passage of time. Hence, reality is only relative in most cases. Your body is less real than the sun is. So, what is that which exists without change always for all time?
Existence alone was, is and will be. Therefore, existence is the only reality.
And since existense was before religion, it is incapable of controlling it. It can at best give a glimpse of reality - thats all.
How can something that is less real then give control of something that is really real?
Or do you have a definition of "absolute" reality that you know of?

Religion is centered on the spiritual and therefore is not reality. Belief helps you deal with reality by assuring you there is a planned and divine reason for your misery. This allows you to cope with reality but it is not your religion that does it, it is your belief in the spiritual and the purposeful planning of same. Agnostics, Buddists, Christians, Jews, Islamics and all religions think that your problems are divinely orchestrated and your destiny is in the plan. This makes you feel better.

Actually since there must be a belief in that which has no objective proof, it is the opposite of reality. So no, to your question
