I need to know were the pvc valve is on at 2001 ford ranger with the 4.0 shoc. i know it is usually in the valve cover some where but can't seem to locate.

Both of the above are INCORRECT. On a 4.0L SOHC V6, it is at the BACK of the engine, with two rubber hoses attached to each side. It may be a little difficult to see. Follow the rubber vacuum hoses on either side of the plastic upper intake, and it'll lead you to it. Hope this helps.

It is PCV not pvc. Positive crankcase ventilation.
According to the Haynes repair manual, the PCV valve is in the valve cover with it being on the driver's side cover in the V6 engine block. Don't confuse it with the hose from the air cleaner located on the passenger side valve cover on the V6 engine. On the 4 cylinder engine, it's located in the oil separator on the top back left side of the engine block (left being the driver's side
