Alright, my hair is thick, long, and wavy, but the problem is that it just sheds *all* over if I don't have it in a ponytail, bun, etc. I mean, even if I'm showering, I just simply run my fingers through my hair and I get a nice sized ball of hair out. And it's not like I can blame it on another family member and/or friend, as I'm the only one with reddish gold hair =/ I'm *not* on any meds currently, and this has been happening for awhile now. I have to clean my brush out daily, and avoid sinks as much as possible when I'm brushing my hair out (the hair gets washed down the sink, and clogs it up) Any reasons why, and how to combat it?

http://www.1stholistic.com/Nutrition/hol_nutr-def-symptoms.htm On this website it lists vitamins and minerals and if you don't have enough of them it shows on the right what type of symptoms you can have. Maybe you have a deficiency? It's not like they're uncommon.

Stress can cause more hair loss than usual. So can damage to your scalp. Have you done anything chemically to it lately? Or the problem could simply be because you have more hair, you lose more. Hair lasts on average about 7 years in our head and then falls out. And we lose about 100 hairs on our heads daily. Having a certain hair color, naturally, has nothing to do with it. For now try to eat as healthy as you can, drink plenty of fluids and don't over process, over brush, or over wash your hair as this will cause more fallout than necessary.

It is normal. I freaked out when it happened to me at first. But the truth is everything that has hair will shed. Its just that people and animals with longer hair tend to shed more because they have more hair. Also with longer hair it is more noticeable.

Have you had it trimmed lately? If not it may be time. You must have a trim to keep new hair growing and the shedding could just be that. Or if you are getting older it sometimes triggers a shedding or thinning of the hair. Next physical have them check your thyroid.

Well, you said your hair is thick , wavy , and long. So when you comb it you probably do not get all the frizz and nats out.And my
Mom has thick hair too. so she told me her hair has always done that. Its just a thing that happens with thick hair. dont worry.
