Your vet carries a product called Advantage. It is for fleas and it works great!!! One little application will last for a month. You can only buy it from a veterinarian though. DO NOT try to use the over the counter stuff for fleas, that mess does not work, but Advantage works great!!!

First I would recommend getting her started on either fromtline or advantix. You will also have to do something about your yard because that is where they come from. Try Over and Out from Home Depot in your yard. It has the same active ingredient as frontline. Also if you have tried frontline before and found it doesn't work, make sure you use it right. Do not bathe your dog two days before or after applying it because it spreds through the oils in the skin and if you bathe her too often you will be stripping those oils off of her. If the frontline still isn't working try the advantix cause some dogs tend to do better with certain brands. Good Luck!! Tip: Flea collars and OTC flea preventatives like from Wal mart and petsmart don't work. Don't waste your money.

Any shampoo kills fleas-head and shoulders or suave. Only problem is, if you have a house full of fleas they will re-infest the animal as soon as it is dry.
I recommend 3 thing:
1. continue weekly baths at least until the flea problem subsides.

2. Treat your house with a "pesticide" that is made to use in a house. Get it from Home Depot or Lowe's-not the pet store. Aerosols work okay. You may have to do it once a week until the problem is gone.

3. Last and most important--use a vacuum cleaner to vac up the fleas and eggs, and cocoons. You may not can see then but they are there. Vacuum your house and furniture where ever the dog walks or sleeps then spray. Wait about three days then vac again. Then spray again in a week. Repeat these steps over and over again until you are flea free. You may have to spray the ground where the dog potties also.

A regular bath isn't going to do anything. You need to flea-dip her. If you take her to petsmart or a vet's office, they'll do it for you for less than 25 bucks. When shes temporarily flea-free, apply Frontline or an equivalent flea and tick medication. I don't like flea collars much, they don't work that well, but Frontline works very well. The next thing you'll need to do is flea-bomb your home and wash everything, including sheets, pillows, stuffed animals, and curtains. Its a lot of work but I'm sure your poor dog is miserable. You'll see, she'll be a lot happier once she isn't so itchy! And so will you.

OK been there done that ...here is what you need to do...

First : if you live in your own house(not in an apartment) you need to treat the yard first, here is what i recommend (TALSTAR)

Second : treat the house i recommend (FLEA MAXX)

Third : Treat your pet .bathe in (DAWN) it works sooo good at getting off fleas.wait a few days and then put (REVOLUTION) on him that stuff works for all pest that can effect your pet,or (FRONTLINE)

when getting rid of fleas its a 3 step process and you have to follow the steps or its a never ending cycle

You can find flea and tick shampoo in any pet store and usually in the grocery store's pet aisle. Fleas can actually drown, so if you submerge your dog in water for at least two minutes, the fleas will die -- but the eggs will still be hanging around.

I would suggest just getting to the vet and getting Frontline. You just apply it in between her shoulder blades once a month. It's worked for my dog, who runs around in the grass and woods and has long hair.

Purchase Advantage at a Vet. This is the best flea medicine of all time. Also you can bathe them in Dawn dishwashing liquid. Dawn will not keep them from coming back but will get rid of them immediately

you need frontline plus. order it from pets-megastore.com.au! inexpensive and dependable. if money is a concern you can use dawn dishwashing liquid. thoroughly wet dogs coat, later well leaving on at least 5 minutes, rinse very well. don't use dawn everytime because your dog might have sensitive skin. but it will work. frontline plus is the best thing to use in my opinion.
